Eating Disorder Treatment

Teen Eating Disorder Treatment

Eating disorders are illnesses that can debilitate your teen. It not only requires your undivided attention as a parent, it merits immediate medical attention, nutritional and psychological support. Teens suffering from anorexia or bulimia need a highly structured environment to work through crucial underlying issues to understand their disordered eating and destructive behaviors that have become an intrinsic part of their social lives.  Your teen will receive tailored education, nutritional counseling, fitness training, and meditation in a compassionate and healing environment.

At PLP your teen’s eating disorder will be treated with the support of an interdisciplinary team of seasoned staff to reclaim a new perspective on food and relationships. Our comprehensive therapeutic modalities are tailored and individualized to sustain long-term behavior change. We monitor nutritional progress, metabolism, and biochemistry.

Our focus on the medical, nutritional and psychological needs of your teen allows our staff to help your teen develop long-lasting awareness by eliminating the “critical and judgemental mindset” that has been an impediment to their own health and wellbeing.

Learning to shift disordered eating patterns and negative body image is a gradual process transforming internalized hatred into body acceptance -- thereby acquiring greater consciousness for the teen's natural body size and shape. Teens will successfully achieve this change the moment they realize their purpose in this world. Our comprehensive healing approach will encourage teens to connect to their mind, body and spirit by learning to chart their own path towards long-term wellness.
